RELOCATION OF THE TOURISM ACADEMY

(A) The Relocation -
1.When will The Tourism Academy @ Sentosa (TAS) relocate to the main Temasek Polytechnic (TP) campus in Tampines?
TAS will relocate to the main TP campus in Tampines in Oct 2011.
2.What will happen to the existing students in TAS?
They will continue to study in TAS until they graduate. If their course extends beyond October 2011, they will attend lessons in Temasek Polytechnic. Their studies will not be affected.
3.What will happen to the existing staff in TAS?
Every staff in TAS is employed as a TP staff. They will continue to work in TAS; thereafter they will relocate to the main TP campus in Tampines.
4.What will become of the satellite campus from October 2011 after your relocation?
Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) will take over the site for redevelopment. 5.What are the plans for staff and students after the relocation?
New facilities in the TP campus are currently being planned to further enhance the learning-teaching experience. More details will be shared in the near future.
(B) The Diploma –
6.Will TAS continue to offer the current full-time DHTB programme after the move?
No, DHTB will no longer be offered at TAS or Temasek Polytechnic.
7.Will you still recruit international students?
TAS will not recruit any students – international or local – for DHTB. For information about international students at Temasek Polytechnic, please go to or now, we will not be recruiting any students for DHTB. http://www.tp.edu.sg/home/admissions/is.htm
8.Will there be any changes to the fees for existing students?
Currently there is no plan to change fees for existing students at TAS.
9.Will the diploma current and past students obtained from TAS still be recognised?
All TAS graduates are in fact TP graduates so they have been and will be awarded with a TP diploma. The TP diploma is recognised by many universities both locally and overseas. For a list of these universities visit http://www.tp.edu.sg/home/courses/further/advance.htm
10.Where can TAS graduates go for assistance in university admission in the future?

11.What will happen to the name “The Tourism Academy @ Sentosa”?
We will keep the use of the name “The Tourism Academy” after we relocate to the main TP campus in Tampines.
12.Will students continue to have opportunities for a living classroom learning experience even after the relocation?
SDC and TP will continue to collaborate in areas such as internships, training and event operations on Sentosa island.
